A brief history of W. & I. Craig...

In 1958, William 'Bill' Craig amassed his wealth of knowledge and years of experience in the road construction and civil engineering industry, to begin trading, which 5 years later would see the founding and opening of W. & I. Craig (Civil Engineering) Ltd. in London.

Together with his knowledge of the industry, and the skills of all the company's operatives, W. & I. Craig rolled out it's services nationwide. This included road laying, demolition works, construction services and other civil engineering works across the country, with a primary focus on London and the South East.

Meanwhile, the demand for asphalt pavers and other road making machinery was continuing to grow, and with a clear hole market, Craig Plant was founded in 1970, to accommodate for the fast growing order book for these specialised road making machines.

Since then, W. & I. Craig has continued to operate a full range of services, running side by side with it's sister company, Craig Plant.

Today the companies are run by Bill Craig's sons; Stuart, Charles and David Craig, who continue to offer an unparalleled service, backed up by a workforce of trained experts. We carry out works for hospital groups, schools, colleges and universities, major retailers and also other major organisations.
